COMMENTS: Grade 6 Course Intro 1=In the first semester of Grade 6 Science, we have been working on skills and concepts relating to Body Systems and Cells. Students have been inquiring about how the body is organised into different levels. They have a discovered the structure and function of the skeletal and muscular systems. They performed several investigations into plant and animal cells, bacteria, yeast, and mould. 2=In each of these concept areas, the students have been using Scientific Inquiry skills to develop research questions, plan valid experiments, and work with the data collected. Students will continue to build on these Inquiry skills throughout this year. COMMENTS: Grade 7 Course Intro 1=In the first semester of Grade 7 Science, we have been working on skills and concepts relating to Cellular Processes and Energy. Students have been inquiring about how the cells are organised and how they perform life functions such as respiration. They have a discovered how diffusion works to move substances into and out of the cell. They performed several investigations into the stores and transfers of energy. 2=In each of these concept areas, the students have been using Scientific Inquiry skills to develop research questions, plan valid experiments, and work with the data collected. Students will continue to build on these Inquiry skills throughout this year. COMMENTS: Intro sentences 1=#N is an outstanding student who has worked very hard throughout the semester and I expect #m to do continue to progress this year. 2=#N has had a mixed semester but there are signs of improvement in #h behaviour and effort. 3=After a difficult start #N has done some good work and is now back on target. 4=#N is a friendly and hard-working member of the class and has put in a steady effort throughout the semester. 5=Overall #N has worked very well but there are a few issues with #h time-keeping and homework that #e needs to address. 6=#N has made some progress this semester, but #e is still having issues with understanding that #e needs to address. 7=Unfortunately, #N has not made progress this semester and needs to address issues of effort and focus. COMMENTS: Skills 1=#E has also been able to demonstrate #skills consistently. 2=#E has also demonstrated #skills, though inconsistently. 3=#E has struggled with #skills, but is beginning to make some progress. COMMENTS: Target Intro 1=#N always tries #h best and has achieved a well-deserved Level #? overall. To ensure #e keeps this up next term #e should work on #skills. 2=#N has made steady progress and reached Level #?. To ensure #e keeps this up next term #e should work on #skills. 3=#N has achieved a Level #? overall. With a little more effort #e could easily reach Level #?. To improve #e should work on #skills. 4=#N has not had the best of starts this year and is still working at Level #?. To achieve more next term #e needs to work on #skills. COMMENTS: Targets 1=#E should use the Quizlet website once a week to improve #h ability to use Scientific terms. #E should aim to be able to use new vocabulary by the end of each unit. 2=#E should ask or answer a question at least once per lesson to check #h own understanding. #E should ask questions as soon as #e does not understand the task or concept. 3=#E should try a variety of revision techniques including mind mapping, drawing and labelling diagrams, and writing #h own questions. Using more than one revision technique will help #m be able to apply the concepts in new situations. 4=#E should reflect on what #e has learned by spending fifteen minutes reviewing #h notes after each lesson. #E can then return to the next lesson with questions and further understanding. 5=#E should review practicals so that #e can test #h understanding of their aims and outcomes. #E will then be able to discuss and evaluate scientific processes primarily. 6=#E should enhance #h learning by making connections between topics. #E LIST: content 1=the characteristics of life 2=cell structure 3=respiration 4=diffusion 5=energy stores and transfers 6=organisation of the body 7=skeletal system 8=muscular system 9=cell structure 10=microorganisms LIST: skills 1=using a microscope effectively 2=drawing accurate diagrams 3=planning an investigation 4=creating tables and graphs 5=evaluating investigations LIST: Work 1=Life Processes quiz 2=Role of Diffusion in the Body writing 3=Life Processes test 4=Pendulum investigation 5=Energy Stores and Transfers quiz 6=Scientific Inquiry quiz 7=Functions of the Skeleton writing 8=Body Systems test 9=Invention of the Microscope research 10=Cell models 11=Microorganisms poster 12=Yeast investigation 13=Cells test 14=Microbes presentation /*========================================= /* HELP: Creating & Importing Files /*========================================= /* /* See also, YouTube Teacher Training Video at: /* SCHOOL REPORT WRITER .COM /* https://schoolreportwriter.com/ /* /* #N - Name /* #E - She/He/They /* #e - she/he/they /* #H - His/Her/Their /* #h = his/her/their /* #b - girl/boy/child /* #m - him/her/them /* #s - herself/himself/themself /* #? - be prompted for text later e.g. #N achieved #?% in the exam. /* #your-list-name - select from a list later e.g. #N excelled in #topics. /* {BR} - line break; {BR}{BR} - double line break. /* /* /* DID YOU KNOW? /* /* You can also import comment files in the, /* Teachers Report Assistant format. /* There are 1000s around the web. /* School Report Writer automatically converts them. /* /* /* YOUR EXISTING COMMENTS ARE SAFE: /* /* When you upload, you will be shown the comments /* you are about to import.
